California surpasses milestone and produces over 1,000MW of solar energy

California surpasses 1,000MW production of solar energy.

California’s Independent System Operator (ISO) confirmed that in recent weeks the state has reached and surpassed a major milestone – twice. Over 1,000MW of solar power were generated across the state setting new US records. ISO noted that the state’s recent heat wave helped propel California’s solar production.

The milestone was commemorated last week during the annual ISO Stakeholder Symposium, which was attended by energy chiefs from ISO, the California Energy Commission (CEC) and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
