A 145MW solar project located in Neuhardenberg, Germany, and owned by a number of unnamed financial institutions and investors has been completed and is set to connect to the grid on 8 March, 2013.
The 145MW project was completed in two months in September and was officially inaugurated on 3 October.

Located on 240 hectares of land on a former military airfield, the facility is equipped with polycrystalline PV modules supplied by Talesun Solar and inverters from KACO new energy.
EPC services were provided by Germany’s Graess Solartechnik. However, 20MW of the 145MW project was delivered by bicsolar.
Stephan Herkert, CEO of bicsolar, said: “The project Neuhardenberg exemplifies the development of solar energy in the past two decades from a niche technology to an essential component of the energy mix; the solar farm is also a sensible use of the former military airport for sustainable energy production.”
When connected, the 145MW project will supply enough electricity to the grid to power around 48,000 homes annually.
