Array Technologies has shipped its first solar tracking system for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s (SMUD) 50MW PV installation in south Sacramento County, California. The utility-scale project is being developed by Recurrent Energy with Swinerton Renewable Energy acting as the EPC for the installation.

Array Technologies provided its horizontal, single-axis trackers and ground-mount racks for the SMUD installation, which is comprised of three different sites in the Sacramento area. The Kammerer and Bruceville sites will each have 19MW projects developed while the Dillard site will house a 12MW solar project. Array’s DuraTrack HZ tracking systems will be used at all three sites with the Dillard project additionally utilizing DuraRack fixed arrays for energy production. The project is expected to be commissioned in the spring of 2012.
