“Zeélim is the largest single PV project in our company history outside of Germany,” said Ingo Alphéus, CEO, Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH. “We are very proud that this EPC contract has been awarded to us. This is in line with our strategy to significantly grow our business in key solar markets like Israel”

“Israel’s largest solar plant, this project marks an important step to provide eco and grid-friendly electricity to Israel and help the country to reach their target of a ten percent share of renewables in its energy mix by 2020,” added Alphéus.

Belectric will also take on the O&M contract for the plant after completion adding to its existing portfolio of 1.3GW.

In October 2016, Israel ended a hiatus on solar tenders with 1GW of capacity made available. It has an objective to source 10% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.
