Canadian Solar sells first solar power plant to Concord Green Energy

Module manufacturer, Canadian Solar’s subsidiary Canadian Solar Solutions has completed the sale of a 10MW solar power plant.

The sale of the Val Caron project, valued at around US$56 million, was completed on 30 June.

Val Caron was sold to Canadian real estate company, One West Holdings – an affiliate of Concord Green Energy.

The plant is located in Greater Sudbury, Ontario and is the first of five Canadian Solar projects, totalling 49MW and valued at more than valued at more than US$277 million, to be sold to Concord.

Cliff McCracken, senior vice-president Concord Pacific said: “Solar energy will soon be a significant contributor to our clean power portfolio.”
