The ‘South Campos Sol project’ will require US$1.6 billion in investment and will be built over more than 2,000 acres in the Copiapó province, in the Atacama Region.

The project will be built by various companies in 11 sub projects to gain the 698MW total.

South Campos Sol will be connected to the Central Interconnected System (SIC) two stages.

The first stage of between 100-300MW will be built this year, depending on grid availability; the remaining capacity will be commissioned 2015-2019.
