China Sunergy (CSUN) revealed that, effective since September 15, Robert Rice was appointed as the company’s chief sales, marketing and strategy officer as well as its vice president. Rice manages corporate international expansion and sales and marketing functions for the company in order to expand CSUN’s global market presence. Rice will additionally spearhead the establishment of long-term industry partnerships and the recruitment of a global sales team.

Rice received his MBA in finance from the University of Washington in Seattle. He has over 25 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, distribution, strategy and management experience. Before he began his own Asia-focused consulting firm, Rice was president and CEO of Fiat Auto China and vice chairman of Fiat’s JV Nanjing Fiat Automotive Company.

In addition, Rice spent ten years in sales and senior management roles with General Motors Asia Pacific where he held positions such as chief representative and country director for General Motors in China. He is also credited with serving in executive positions with Alcoa Asia, Tokyo for seven years.

Stephen Cai, CSUN CEO, noted his welcome to Rice commenting, “Bob is a talented and experienced senior executive with broad experience across the spectrum of business functions including international sales and marketing. He has a proven track record of dramatically increasing sales, negotiating and developing partnerships, growing product lineups, improving profitability, and leading global teams.  Having someone senior by my side focusing on global growth, establishing partnerships, growing our sales, and driving CSUN's brand and market development will allow me to spend more time on strategic management of the company, manufacturing, and supply chain management. We are thrilled to have Bob on board.”
