Croatia doubles FiT connected solar capacity in two months

Croatia has an installed solar capacity of 23.8MW register for its feed-in tariff (FiT) as of the end of March, according to the Mediterranean country’s energy market operator, HROTE.

HROTE released figures for new solar PV plants that have signed electricity purchase contracts and are receiving Croatia’s FiT, added during February and March 2014.

There were 6.6MW of approved and installed solar PV by 31 December 2013.

A total of 21.03MW of new solar power plants have signed electricity purchase contracts with HROTE, but were not yet in operation.

As of the end of March 2014, 311 solar plants had signed contracts with HROTE, but were operational.

In total 551MW in total of new renewable energy capacity to be installed – including hydro, biomass, biogas, wind, geothermal and cogeneration power plants.
