Microinverter firm Enphase Energy and dedicated residential PV company Sunrun have signed an agreement for Enphase to supply solar energy systems to Sunrun for its household PV installations.

Enphase will provide its module level power electronics (MLPE) systems to Sunrun's installation services for the first time. It will also work with Sunrun on its wholesale distribution business, AEE Solar, and collaborate on product development of Sunrun’s racking and mounting systems group SnapNrack.

Paul Nahi, president and chief executive of Enphase Energy said: “As the pioneer in providing solar as a service to homeowners, Sunrun recognizes that Enphase offers a smart, differentiated and financially compelling approach to clean energy generation that delivers cash flow savings and excellent system performance over the life of the project.”

In related news, Enphase has been chosen by UK energy firm Euro Energy Services as the primary inverter technology partner for its PV projects.

The partnership has already resulted in Enphase software-defined microinverter systems being installed in more than 500 UK homes and businesses, totalling more than 1.75MW in capacity.

Paul Maguire, Euro Energy Services managing director, said: “Enphase’s microinverter system offers a number of advantages over traditional and hybrid DC technologies, such as higher energy productivity yields, field-proven reliability, seamless design flexibility, and ease of installation.”

In May, PV Tech Storage also reported that Sunrun would partner with Tesla Energy on sales of Tesla’s Powerwall home battery system.
