Adding to a string of recent PV power plant projects, Conergy is partnering with developer Ensunt and DACC Power Generation Company (DPGCL) to build a 50MW solar park in Bahawalpur, Cholistan region.
Ideal Power Converters (IPC) advised that its 30kW PV inverter, IPV-30kW-480 had been confirmed by Intertek as conforming to UL standard 1741 and is now included on the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) list of approved PC inverter products. As part of the CEC list, IPC’s inverter can be installed in California and across the US.

Satcon will supply 30MW of its Equinox Prism Platform to Western Wind and Lord Electric. The inverters will be installed at a solar power park in Puerto Rico, the company has announced.
GCL Solar Energy has announced that it has ordered a total of 22.5MW of Satcon Equinox 500kW inverters as well as 44MW of SSB Solstice combiners to equip a 76MW PV plant in the Caribbean. Satcon will provide 55 inverters and 1,900 Solstice sub combiners, as well as 680 of its SSC Smart sub combiners. Further, the company will supply 64 medium voltage transformers.
Renewable energy solutions provider Satcon Technology has entered into a strategic manufacturing agreement with Sanmina-SCI, the company has announced. Under the agreement, Sanmina will begin producing Satcon’s PowerGate Plus 50, 100, 250 and 500kW inverters well as the company’s Prism Platform solutions at it’s Canadian factory. The production of the utility-scale inverters in Ontario, Canada, is necessary to comply with Ontario’s FiT program.
PV inverter manufacturer, Satcon Technology has said that new orders have increased 130% in the first quarter of 2012 compared to previous quarter, reaching a bookings value of approximately US$45 million. The company said the quarter had been the most successful bookings period in four quarters, with a book-to-bill ratio of 1.9:1.
Nextronex has been selected by the American Municipal Power (AMP) to supply a 4.2MW solar plant in Napoleon, Ohio with its 1,000V DC converters. The project is expected to be completed in July 2012.
The Isle of Wight, located off the southern coast of Great Britain, has a new 1.6MW solar plant to thank for helping to contribute to its electricity grid. The project was completed using 80 strings, each with 88 solar modules, and outfitted with SunMaster CS20 inverters from Mastervolt. The company advised that this is one of the largest systems with sting inverters in Britain.
SolarBridge Technologies and NESL-USA have partnered in order to provide an AC module system using SolarBridge’s microinverter. The module is backed by an end-to-end 25-year warranty. The NESL AC module system uses SolarBridge’s Pantheon microinverter in the pre-assembled panel, with the company offering its AC module system up to 250W per panel.
