Huasun has announced two successful domestic bids with PowerChina, including a 500 MWp procurement and one of 339.68 for the Qinhuangdao Changli offshore PV pilot project in the east of the country.
Offshore photovoltaics have emerged as a critical component in the global energy transition, attracting significant attention from both the industry and policymakers. According to the “14th Five-Year Plan for Power Development” in Shandong, the province aims to establish two major offshore photovoltaic bases, each with a capacity of tens of gigawatts, in the “Bohai Rim” and “Yellow Sea” regions. The Qinhuangdao Changli offshore project is the first large-scale offshore initiative in Bohai Bay, marking Huasun’s second offshore project with PowerChina.
Located 7.3 kilometers offshore in waters 6-12 meters deep, it covers 279 hectares and places challenging demands on project construction. Huasun will supply its V-Ocean HJT modules, featuring 210mm HJT cells, double-glass encapsulation and double-sided microcrystalline technology. As the world’s first certified product for a marine environment, V-Ocean can withstand salt mist, water vapour and UV, ensuring the project’s reliability and the advance of offshore PV development.
