As the exclusive module supplier for the first phase of the Delingha integrated solar-storage project in Qinghai, JinkoSolar has completed the delivery of 1GW of its N-type TOPCon bifacial modules. Designed to withstand the extreme climate conditions at the project site, including daily temperature fluctuations exceeding 20℃, intense ultraviolet radiation and frequent sandstorms, the high efficiency modules are bringing sustainable energy to the Qaidam Basin. The project marks a significant step forward in driving China’s large-scale new energy bases in the country’s northwest desert and arid areas into a new stage characterized by higher efficiency and greater reliability.

Benefiting from the high natural reflectivity of desert sand, the modules’ high bifaciality rate of 85% significantly boosts rearside photoelectric conversion efficiency, generating an additional 3%–5% of power compared to conventional bifacial modules. First-year degradation is limited to just 1%, and annual linear degradation is only 0.4%. Combined with a low temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, the modules maintain high power output even in surface temperatures exceeding 60°C during summer.

As the first renewable energy project in Western Qinghai to use a thermal-storage concentrated solar plant as a peak-shaving power source, the initiative achieves a stable 24-hour electricity supply through coordinated solar PV and solar thermal energy storage. Once fully constructed, the Delingha base is forecast to produce an annual 1.8 billion kWh of electricity, eliminating 650,000 tons of CO₂ emissions.
