A 200MW PV power project in the city of Zhangye, in China’s Gansu province, is now operational, deploying Trina Solar 210mm Vertex 670W modules.

The standard operating temperature of a PV module is higher than the ambient temperature. Under continuous exposure to extreme high temperatures, the temperature of a module at a solar power plant can reach 75°C or more, and the working temperature of its internal cells may be even higher. 

GoodWe has been listed in the top three hybrid inverter suppliers for 2021, with a global market share of 13%, according to research company Wood Mackenzie.

LONGi has announced that its central R&D institute has officially commenced operations at the company’s global headquarters in Xi’an. The institute, which incorporates a high efficiency monocrystalline cell centre with a pilot production line, will primarily provide R&D technical support and patent reserves for the industrialization of the next generation of LONGi products.

Due to continual exposure to high temperatures, high humidity and large amounts of dust, PID (Potential Induced Degradation) is unavoidable for PV modules and research indicates that permanent PID leads to power generation loss of up to 30%.

Over the past decade, the growth of the global photovoltaics (PV) industry has been impressive, with significant technological developments made in both laboratory and industrial mass production. As illustrated in Figure 1, new technologies have emerged during this period and cell efficiencies have increased rapidly. The laboratory efficiency of a monocrystalline silicon cell has reached 26.7%, with the emerging Perovskite and Si tandem cell technology reaching 29.8%.

JinkoSolar has announced the arrival in Pakistan of the first batch of its 10MW N-type Tiger Neo 78 BDV modules. The recipient and EPC partner is S.M. Jaffer, a leading power generation EPC company in Pakistan since 1949, and the modules will be installed at three separate C&I rooftop projects at local textile factories Ahmed Fine Textile Mills, Fazal Cloth Mills and Reliance Weaving Mills.
