The instrument is an important research device for PV developers because it measures both, global and diffuse radiation as well as sunshine state in the same instrument and can detect and identify the most efficient sites for PV installations.
After the installation of the PV system, the device monitors panel efficiency as well as calculating DNI (Direct-Normal Irradiance), an important feature in field trials, where panel efficiency is often compared to DNI. The device is designed for outdoor exposure and an effective meteorological instrument
