Aventron signs EPC contracts with Solarpack for 100MW of post-subsidy solar in Spain

aventron has bagged an EPC contract for construction of two solar PV plants in Spain with a capacity of 50MW each from Solarpack, an international independent solar PV power producer based in Spain.

Both projects have already passed the required environmental impact assessments and the final building permits are expected at the beginning of 2019. The development partner is the Spanish company Synergia Energy Solutions.

The two ground-mounted systems in the Toledo and Murcia regions are among the first major solar projects in Europe to be implemented and operated without subsidies or other direct government support instruments. aventron is currently in advanced negotiations on the power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the energy generated in the projects. Financial close and start of construction are expected in the second quarter of 2019.

EBRD and FMO back 30MW solar plant in Ukraine

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) are organising a €24.5 million syndicated loan to support renewables in Ukraine.

The loan will finance a 30MW solar plant in the Cherkasy region, which is expected to start generating electricity in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The project will be implemented by a Ukrainian special purpose vehicle fully-owned by the Norwegian solar developer Scatec Solar.

NTPC gets investment approval for 160MW of solar in Uttar Pradesh

After winning of 160MW of solar capacities in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, state-owned utility NTPC has received investment approval for its 140MW Bilhaur solar project and its 20MW Auraiya project.
