Major tier one PV manufacturer JinkoSolar has supplied modules totalling 80MW to China General Nuclear Power Group’s Neihuang County, Henan Province power plant project.
JinkoSolar said that the project, located in the villages of Mashang and Liucun, would use 325,689 modules placed on the rooftops of traditional agricultural greenhouses. The project was expected to be completed and grid connected by the end of 2014.
“Neihuang County has traditionally been an agricultural region, which has developed substantially over time and now requires increasing electricity generation capabilities,” noted Xiande Li, chairman of JinkoSolar. “Agricultural solar PV projects not only solve the problem of space needed but also simultaneously promote new clean energy power generation and agricultural development.”
