Phoenix Solar is constructing two PV plants in Italy, with a combined capacity of 8.9MWp. Building work on the 6.1MWp Taranto and 2.8MWp Alessandria plants began in October, with a completion date scheduled for the end of December.

Both facilities are for project companies belonging to E.ON, who will also provide the crystalline solar modules used in the plants.

“We are delighted that, after our first successful project in France, we are now carrying out project work for E.ON in Italy”, commented Ulrich Reidenbach, chief sales officer of Phoenix Solar. “Italy is a very promising future market where we will be implementing more projects in 2011 as well.”

“Solar energy is playing an increasingly important role in our renewable energies mix. So, we are delighted to have found Phoenix Solar as a flexible and reliable partner with long-standing experience and know-how in planning and building of large-scale solar power plants”, said Christophe Jurczak, E.ON's director of solar PV.
