ReneSola has reported neither workers nor operations at its polysilicon factory in Meishan, Sichuan, were affected by the magnitude 7 earthquake that devastated parts of the south-west region over the weekend.

The Chinese manufacturer said the epicentre of the earthquake was some 135 kilmetres away in the city of Ya'an, meaning its plant escaped unscathed.

Chief executive Xianshou Li said: “Immediately after the earthquake struck this morning, we reached out to our polysilicon facility staff to ensure our employees were safe and our facilities were intact.

“While both our employees and facilities appear unaffected, we remain concerned for those affected by the earthquake. We will do everything we can to assist the disaster recovery and those affected. We will continue to monitor the situation closely for any new developments.”
