Richard Cooper appointed Pro-Tech’s new president

Pro-Tech Energy Solutions has appointed Richard Cooper as its new president. Cooper will be charged with helping Pro-Tech reach its goal of becoming Northeast America’s biggest developer of turnkey solar projects. 

“Richard brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial, venture capital and energy sectors,” said John Drexinger, vice president of commercial solar at Pro-Tech Energy Solutions. “His unique skills and vision will be essential in helping us continue our tremendous growth in revenue and profitability and in reaching our goal of being the largest turnkey developer of solar projects in New Jersey and the surrounding region.”

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University, Cooper started his career in fund management, whilst also running two separate technology companies. More recently, he has taken on executive roles helping firms such as Honeywell, Siemens and Tozour Energy Services develop energy-saving initiatives.

“This is an exciting time in Pro-Tech's growth and the growth of the solar industry in the Mid-Atlantic. Pro-Tech has the team to truly capitalise on the opportunity and I'm excited to provide the leadership,” said Cooper.

Cooper is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and the American Solar Energy Society, and has spoken in favour of renewable-energy initiatives at national, regional and local events.
