French renewable company Rubis Photosol has announced a plan to develop a 200MWp solar PV project in France.
The company said it had won 17% of the 1,519MWp attributed in the fourth period of the French Energy Regulatory Commission’s call for tenders in the ground-mounted photovoltaic plants category. Rubis Photosol expects to begin construction at the project, located at the former Creil air base, between 2024 and 2025, and to produce 188GWh of electricity annually at the facility.

The investment for the construction of the project is estimated at around €130 million (US$137.46 million).
Rubis Photosol added that the project could enable the reconversion of the land of the former military base of Creil in the Oise department, totalling 253 hectares, which have not been used since 2016. The project will cover 147 hectares of land, the largest solar PV installation of the Ministry of the Armed Forces of France’s Place au Soleil plan.
In addition, Rubis Photosol has also acquired three ready-to-build projects with a total capacity of 30MWp in the Alicante region.
These projects will be commissioned in the second half of 2025. After securing these projects in Spain, the company’s pipeline of projects under development in Spain reached 300MWp.
Rubis Photosol has also agreed to buy a 98.4MWp Italian solar portfolio from Germany-headquartered solar developer ib vogt. The portfolio consisted of ten PV and agrivoltaic projects and Rubis Photosol would purchase each project separately.
“These projects illustrate the group’s strategy to develop renewable energy production in order to reach at least 25% of its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) by 2030. These successes reward the expertise of the teams and testify to Rubis Photosol’s competitiveness in these growing markets,” said Clarisse Gobin-Swiecznik, managing partner of Rubis Group.
