Taiwan-based Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS), a major wafer producer, is selling its complete shareholding in former subsidiary, GlobalWafers Co, for around US$131 million.
SAS successfully spun-off and listed GlobalWafers Co, a producer of semiconductor wafers, in 2014.

The company expects to make the sale between March and April, 2015. SAS did not say what the expected funds from the sale would be used for.
SAS reported sales in November, 2014 of US$76.3 million, down from US$80.1 million in the previous month. Sales reached a new record in September, 2014 and were up 23% from the prior year period.
