Renewable energy project developer Sustainable Energy Capital Partners (SECP) has formed a joint venture partnership with Korean independent power producer Posco Power to develop and build a 300MW photovoltaic power plant in Boulder City, NV. Global engineering/construction/management services firm Parsons has also signed on to the project.

Construction is scheduled to take place during the second half of 2012 and is expected to create hundreds of jobs for the local community, according to the companies.

SECP said that the Boulder City plant will add to its portfolio of more than 400MW of solar projects in the southwestern United States. For Posco Power, the deal represents its first overseas renewable energy project developed without the involvement of the parent company, Posco.

PV-Tech attempted repeatedly to contact Santa Ana, CA-based SECP for more details about the partnership and the project, without success.

As a result, information such as the monetary value of the deal, financing arrangements, utility company role, power rating represented by the 300MW cited (AC or DC), types of modules and BOS components to be deployed, precise location of the site, and timeline for design/construction/interconnection of the project remain undisclosed.
