Hanwha Q CELLS, which recently merged with Hanwha Solar One, will use the SNEC expo in China to unveil the latest in its HSL S series modules and high efficiency Q.ANTUM cell range.
The HSL S series modules feature four busbars in their design and are turned out from the company’s fully automated production lines. Q CELLS claims HSL S is suitable for use across the three main PV market segments – commercial, utility-scale and residential.

The two merged manufacturers recently issued their full-year guidance for 2014, meeting a lowered shipment guidance and making it the first time Q CELLS has released official shipment figures. It showed Q CELLS shipped a total of 967.1MW of PV modules in 2014, a significant increase from the previous year, when it shipped 622.8MW.
In announcing the latest products earlier this week, Hanwha Q CELLS president Nam Seong Woo pointed out that with an annual production capacity of 3.28GW, the merged Hanwha group is thought to be the largest solar cell manufacturer in the world.
The Q CELLS president also claimed the Q.ANTUM CELLS have achieved a record efficiency, although that appears to be as yet unverified. At the SNEC show this week, Q Cells is also exhibiting a version of the S module for hot environments.
“We are also proud to show our Q.ANTUM technology in China for the first time. Q.ANTUM has achieved the world’s highest efficiency for polycrystalline solar cells at 19.5%. Q.ANTUM has been proven in mass production, with 60-cell module efficiency at 18.5%. Its excellent low light behaviour, temperature coefficients, anti-PID and hot-spot protect technologies guarantee yields for customers and protect their investment,” Nam said.
