Madrid-headquartered renewable energy company EDP Renewables has signed an agreement framework to develop 650MWp of distributed solar PV assets with Silicon Valley tech giant Google.
EDP Renewables (EDPR) added a total of 465MW of wind and solar capacity in Q1 2022, mainly due to its acquisition of Singaporean developer Sunseap, while it recorded a net profit of €66 million (US$69.8 million), up 75% on the previous year.
EDP is to acquire Polish distributed solar company Soon Energy, enabling its presence in Poland to grow fivefold, the company has claimed, as it targets distributed generation as a key growth area in the country.
