Entergy Arkansas has announced plans to build a 600MW solar-plus-storage project to support a new data centre to be built by Google.

Leeward Renewable Energy has started construction at the Twelvemile 1 and 2 solar projects in Oklahoma, which have a capacity of 152MW.

Google will purchase renewable energy certificates from a 600MW solar and energy storage portfolio in the US state of South Carolina.

The agreement will support the construction of six PV plants, with a combined capacity of 724MW, which will be sited to support Google’s data centre operations.
