UAE state-owned renewable energy developer Masdar has signed a number of solar PV and renewables agreements in small and emerging global solar markets.

The Indonesian state utility PLN and UAE state-run renewables developer Masdar have inaugurated the 192MWp (145MWac) Cirata floating solar PV (FPV) plant in the West Java province of Indonesia.

Indonesia is aiming to deploy an additional 4,680MW of solar by 2030 as part of efforts to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2060.

Indonesian power company PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB), a subsidiary of state utility PLN, and the UAE's Masdar have signed an agreement to develop the world’s largest floating solar project with a capacity of 200MW in Indonesia.

Given the tight land restrictions of the East Asian island, this would be a huge development.
