Tigo announced Thursday that it is releasing its new portfolio of solar optimizers — which now feature UHD-Core (Ultra-High Definition) technology.

Ampt LLC, a power conversion technology provider, announced that it has deployed its DC optimisers for a 33MW PV project with Canadian Solar. The project utilises Ampt’s DC String Optimisers in one of the largest deployments of DC power optimisers in the world.

Ampt said that its patented String Optimizers are being deployed in 600 volt photovoltaic (PV) solar systems at installed costs in cents per watt that rival that of 1000 volt systems. Ampt String Optimizers are designed to allow the use of 1000 volt inverters that are claimed to lower inverter cost by 40% and also reduce DC BOS costs by 50%.
