Flextronics to provide electromechanical design services to CSP developer eSolar

Flextronics and eSolar have signed a deal that calls for the electronic manufacturing services company to provide electromechanical design capabilities to the concentrating solar thermal power plant developer. Flextronics will focus its design services efforts relating to eSolar's next-generation heliostats and solar collector systems at its Plano, TX, location.

“eSolar is partnering with Flextronics as we move forward to meet the future cost reduction targets of our customers,” stated Gary Breton, senior VP of eSolar's global operations. “We feel we have a perfect match with Flextronics to realize our vision of making solar power competitive with fossil fuels.”

Flextronics works with a growing number of customers across the various segments of solar manufacturing value chain, including Q-Cells, SunPower, Enphase, Amonix, and Petra Solar.
