The finalists in stage two in the bid for power purchase agreements of 200MW by the government of Jordan have been released by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Amongst these are Hanergy, an Italian group of SunEdison, Canadian Solar and Scatec Solar.
In February, the government of Jordan announced its approval of the power purchase agreements of 200MW for new solar power plants in Jordan.

The government will be awarding seven individual projects a feed-in tariff of 120fils/kWh (US$0.17/kWh).
These projects will pose a change in the country that is heavily dependent on both oil and gas.
