Germany based flat roof PV systems integrator SUNOVA AG, has started field tests of several different thin film module technologies with conventional multi-crystalline silicon modules to better evaluate the strength and weaknesses for future installations in the country.
SUNOVA has set up a test bed on a roof top that includes tandem a-Si modules from Sunfilm and Sontor as well as CIGS modules from Solibro. The company is using solar invertors from Danfoss and measuring instruments from Papendorf, all fixed with SUNOVA’s MCG flat roof fixing system.
The company said that it will be evaluating key parameters such as irradiation yield data and module operating temperatures. SUNOVA hopes the evaluation tests will deliver the relevant information for future module selection criteria and greater benefit to its customers.
