The Isle of Wight, located off the southern coast of Great Britain, has a new 1.6MW solar plant to thank for helping to contribute to its electricity grid. The project was completed using 80 strings, each with 88 solar modules, and outfitted with SunMaster CS20 inverters from Mastervolt. The company advised that this is one of the largest systems with sting inverters in Britain.
The plant features its own 33,000V transformer grid feed-in and was planned and constructed with help from Mastervolt. “The Isle of Wight has long been an important location for Mastervolt: Many of the yachts cruising the magnificent sailing resorts around the island use our independent power supply systems. After all, Mastervolt is the global market leader for these systems. Being able to implement our largest British photovoltaic project to date on the Isle of Wight makes us particularly proud,” says David Craig, general manager of Mastervolt UK and Ireland.
