In an attempt to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leading integrated solar companies, BP Solar has decided to enlist the help of a specialist partner to help manage some of its portfolio of off-grid projects. Control of French BP Solar’s off-grid operations has been handed over to German firm Phaesun.

The newly-created sub-division, which will combine Phaesun’s expertise in photovoltaics and wind energy with the BP Solar’s knowledge of pumping and telecommunication systems, has been named Phaesun France SAS. It will be based in the southern French town of Vendargues and concentrate on new and pre-existing BP Solar projects in Africa and the Middle East.
