China Sunergy and Pythagoras Solar have signed a five-year contract to develop, manufacture and market BIPV products in China. The agreement runs from 2010 until 2015 and will see Pythagoras Solar produce photovoltaic glass units (PVGU) and China Sunergy supply up to 75MW of solar concentrator cells as they attempt to capitalise on the growing demand for BIPV products, reports Design-BuildSolar.

The firms will also join forces on the reselling and production of Pythagoras Solar's PVGU products and the development and supply of solar concentrator cells to further enhance BIPV systems.

“Pythagoras Solar's BIPV products are a foundation for progress in areas of critical importance for our company as we work to broaden our technology portfolio. We look forward to supplying an important partner with our market leading solar concentrator cells and believe that both companies will benefit from our joint efforts,” said China Sunergy's CEO, Stephen Zhifang Cai.

“This is an exciting time to be expanding our business in China and we feel that China Sunergy will be a strong partner to help us take advantage of the burgeoning demand for BIPV products and the high-growth Asian markets.
