JA Solar supplies 5MW project in Israel

Module manufacturer JA Solar has won a contract to supply panels for a 5MW project in Israel.

The company will provide Ralco Energy, one of Israel's largest solar product distributors, with its 270W monocrystalline modules for a ground-mounted project in Israel.

“This project win is another important step for JA Solar as we continue to capitalise on opportunities in emerging solar markets,” said Baofang Jin, executive chairman and CEO, JA Solar.

“Israeli customers are extremely demanding in terms of product efficiency and reliability, and JA Solar's ability to offer high-quality products at a competitive price was crucial to winning this project,” claimed Jin.

“With a limited installation area, our high performance panels will maximise energy output and investment returns for the project owner.”

Ralco Energy, part of the Ralco Group, is a distributor of PV panels and has also worked as an EPC on commercial rooftop-scale projects.

“We were attracted by JA Solar's ability to provide high-efficiency, high-quality products and a tailored solution for this project,” said Ofir Ruziak, CEO, Ralco Energy. “We look forward to working more closely with them to take advantage of future opportunities in the fast-growing Israeli market.”

No details were immediately available about who would operate as EPC or where power would be sold upon completion of the project.
