Leading monocrystalline wafer producer and ‘Solar Module Super League’ (SMSL) member LONGi Green Energy Technology has achieved a front side power of more than 450W in its 72-cell bifacial half-cut module, a world record for this module type, tested and verified by TÜV-SÜD.

In April last year, LONGi achieved another world record with the power of its 60-cell monocrystalline half-cut PERC module exceeding 360W.

Dr. Lv Jun, VP of LONGi Solar, said: “LONGi monocrystalline half cell module combines monocrystalline PERC cell technology and bifacial half cell module construction to effectively reduce package loss and increase average output by 5-10W. Half cell has obvious advantages in power generation under weak light and shadow conditions and excellent heat spot resistance. This new record in module power is another step in our innovative breakthrough and journey.”

In January this year, LONGi’s monocrystalline PERC cells also reached a record 24.06% conversion efficiency.

In its recent full-year financial reports for 2018, LONGi showed it had continued to ride the industry wave in the transition to high-performance mono-based products in the year, with overseas mono-module sales volume of 1,962MW, a year-on-year increase of 370%.
