The trend is expected to continue as the adoption rate of bifacial modules builds momentum, offering around a 12% yield gain over a typical mono-facial module and further yield gains with a specifically designed bifacial tracker system.

According to a recent report from market research firm GTM Research, solar tracker systems market in 2017 increased by 32% to a record 14.5GW, while global PV installations reached around 98GW, 2017, dominated by China, which installed over 53GW.

“Vergo Energy has a proven track record of successful solar project design and installation in Turkey,” stated Marco Garcia, chief commercial officer and co-founder of NEXTracker. ”This MSA for 775 megawatts helps us expand our global customer portfolio in the region with a partner that has close to one gigawatt of proven performance. Vergo Energy is a reliable and market leading company that will help us advance our long-term strategic business.”

Vergo Energy intends to be the reseller of NEXTracker’s systems in the Turkish region, while NEXTracker sees the agreement as a result of the state of maturity in the Turkish market and the trend toward strategic business alliances in the global solar sector.

“We have been able to respond to the global demands of our domestic and foreign customers with our fixed systems and complete their projects succesfully,” stated Nevzat Taşkın, CEO of Vergo Energy. “By entering into this strategic agreement with NEXTracker, we are adding the best technology and market leader in patented tracking systems to our product range. We will strengthen our position as the leading mounting structure company in Turkey and surrounding regional markets by meeting the demands of both fixed tilt and tracking systems together with NEXTracker.”
