UK-based Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology (OPIT) has promoted Dan Ayres to managing director, effective immediately. Last summer Ayres was appointed to the newly-created role of general manager having already worked at the company for over ten years. He has been based in operations, product management and project management.
Ayres replaces Andy Matthews who has held the role since 2007. Details of his exit have not been disclosed.

Dan Ayres will report to Jonathan Flint, CEO of OPIT, who comments, “Our business strategy demands an organisation that can meet the challenge of expanding markets, new products and growing numbers of customers and employees. Mark Vosloo, sales and customer support director has taken over responsibility for all customer facing functions including strategic marketing and holds the new title sales, customer support and marketing director.
