Ameresco was chosen by the Department of Veterans Affairs to build a renewable energy project at the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ameresco will design and build the solar PV system, which holds a valued cost of over US$6.6 million. The design phase will start right away, with construction slated to begin early next year with completion anticipated within a 10-month time frame.
The VAMC project will have both rooftop and ground-mounted solar arrays installed across seven VAMC campus sites. The systems will range between 35KW to 100KW, with the ground-mounted system’s installed capactiy predicted to be 550KW, once its design is completed and approved.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the Department of Veterans Affairs for this important project,” said Keith Derrington, executive vice president and general manager of Federal Operations at Ameresco. “We look forward to getting the project under way. This project will help create and maintain green jobs in Utah.”
