Power Engineering reported that the city of Xigaze in Tibet has a new 30MW solar plant in operation. This is the first phase of a large-scale PV project that is being developed by Linuo Power Group. LDK Solar’s 60MW industrial solar park and Chaorisolar’s 10MW installation are still under construction.

“The combined capacity of the city's PV industry has therefore reached 100-megawatts, the largest in China,” said Wang Xijing, secretary of Xigaze's committee of the Communist Party of China. Xijing noted that the Xigaze is looking to further its cooperation with other Chinese energy firms in order to develop more PV and thermal power projects.
