SunPower and North County Watch reach settlement over California Valley Solar Ranch

Following the many obstacles which blocked SunPower’s route to completing its plant in San Luis Obispo County, it seems that now the path is clear and plans can move forward.

SunPower has announced that a settlement has been agreed with North County Watch and Carrizo Commons to settle and dismiss a lawsuit against the 250MW California Valley Solar Ranch (CVSR) project, currently under construction in San Luis Obispo County, California.

It has been decided that SunPower’s use of the site for the CVSR project will not extend further than 50 years and the decommissioning and restoration of habitat at the site will occur by that time. In addition, the agreement provides for enhanced communication and collaboration regarding mitigation and monitoring activities during the construction of the project, funding of research on endangered species and support for the development of a long-term vision for the Carrizo Plain.
