Korean-owned solar manufacturer Qcells has signed an agreement with Texas-based solar module recycling firm Solarcycle to recycle Qcells’ decommissioned modules in the US.
ARENA’s Silicon To Solar study seeks to outline a “credible pathway” for Australia to establish 10GW of polysilicon (poly-si) purification capacity and 5GW of ingot, wafer, cell and module production capacity from 2030.
The statement came on the same day that European solar manufacturing stalwart Meyer Burger announced plans to abandon its module assembly plant in Germany because of the lack of support afforded to manufacturers in Europe.
