Construction work on the 2GW Al Dhafra solar project in Abu Dhabi is set to begin as the consortium behind the development announces it has reached financial closing.

A consortium including Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Masdar, EDF and JinkoSolar development arm JinkoPower have been formally announced as the winning party behind the world record low tender for the 2GW Al Dhafra solar farm.

Abu Dhabi Power said it has received the world’s lowest tariff for solar for its 2GW Al Dhafra project.
