Vietnamese conglomerate TTC Group and Gia Lai Electricity JSC (GEC), a member of the TTC, have launched a 49MW solar PV project in Krong Pa District in Gia Lai Province, Vietnam, which is the company's second plant, and the largest in the country.

A 48MW PV project in Vietnam, serving as a joint construction project between Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation, the Thanh Thanh Cong Group and the Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company, began commercial operation in the final week of September.

Last month, TTC Group contracted another Japanese multinational, Sharp Corporation, to build a similar size plant in Thua Thien Hue Province.

India is expected to add more than 9GW of solar PV capacity this year, but its long-term renewable energy future requires adding transmission capacity and removing bottlenecks immediately, according to the latest quarterly solar market update from consultancy firm Mercom Capital Group.
