German renewables developer Juwi will cut jobs and reduce its management staff in response to declining margins and “significant economic pressure” in the German renewables market.

JUWI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MVV Energie AG, has completed the sale of a 156MW solar PV portfolio in Greece to Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers specialising in sustainable investing.

JUWI Renewable Energies has announced plans to build three new solar projects, with a combined capacity of 340MW, in South Africa.

US renewable project developer Deriva Energy has commissioned its 140MW Spanish Peaks Solar portfolio in the US state of Colorado.

Located in the Free State province, the project will be owned by Teraco and is expected to be operational in 2026.

The portfolio consists of three solar projects – with 160MW, 67MW and 40MW of capacity each – located in Central Greece.

Teraco has also secured its first grid capacity allocation from South Africa state-operated utility Eskom.
