The China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association announced that the average transaction price of M10 mono-silicon wafer has dropped by 6.96%.

The average price of solar-grade polysilicon has dropped from the peak of RMB240,000-250,000/tonne (US$32,856-34,191) at the beginning of the year to RMB70,000-90,000/tonne.

The Silicon Industry Branch of CNMIA published the latest solar-grade polysilicon prices on 23 August, which were on an upward trend.

Prices of all upstream PV products such as silicon wafers and silicon ingots increased recently, but downstream module prices continued to decline and reached new lows.

On May 29 LONGi Green Energy updated its mono silicon wafer prices, with a decline of over 30% across the board, drawing the industry’s attention.

Polysilicon prices dropped across the board as of 8 May, according to the latest report from metals market research company Shanghai Metals Market.

The Silicon Industry Association has reported that silicon wafer prices have continued to fall due to an oversupply of silicon.

On April 12, the Silicon Industry Branch announced the latest solar-grade polysilicon prices, which were between RMB190-200/kg on average, with the lowest price set at RMB180/kg (US$26.2/kg).
