Already busy developing a pair of energy-efficient data centre campuses in Tennessee and Northern Alabama, Google announced an even grander plan to develop a 413MW pipeline of PV projects within both states.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has signed off on an agreement with First Solar and NextEra Energy Resources to develop the largest solar installations in Tennessee and Alabama at 150MW and 227MW, respectively for Facebook.
Home furnishings retailer IKEA announced that it has completed the solar rooftop array atop its Memphis store — which is set to open in late Fall 2016. Once it has been commissioned, the installation will be the largest PV rooftop array in Tennessee.
