PV manufacturer Trina Solar has signed an agreement to supply 51MW of dual glass modules to Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute in order to power equipment in tea plantations.
Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group and is responsible for EPC of an agricultural PV project in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province, China.

The solar project has 100MW capacity and Phase I (51MW) will utilize dual glass modules including around 43,516 of Trina Solar's TSM-255 modules and 154,284 of the company's TSM-260 modules.
A Trina statement claimed that the dual glass frameless modules are durable with front and back layers of heat-strengthened glass. These protect against heavy humidity and pesticide use. They are particularly suited to greenhouse environments, where properly maintaining temperature is crucial to the success of crop growth.
The module shipments are expected to be complete in Q3 2015.
