Virginia takes just 0.09% of its energy from solar, according to the US Energy Information Administration, but in May governor McAuliffe signed 11 bills that promoted PV – particularly community solar – and other renewable energy resources such as pumped hydro.

Vivint Solar now operates in 20 US states.
