Yingli Green Energy's Americas unit has signed a new PV module supply agreement with Borrego Solar Systems. Under the terms of the deal, 20MW of Yingli Solar crystalline-silicon modules will be provided to the San Diego-based PV systems installer in 2011. Borrego plans to use the panels for commercial projects across the U.S.

The agreement represents a doubling of Borrego's 2010 purchase order, when the company bought 10MW of Yingli Solar modules, which were deployed in projects such as the San Diego Community College District (2.8MW), City of Ridgecrest, CA (500KW), and San Diego County Water Authority (1.8MW).

These projects created approximately 400 green jobs and are expected to deliver enough clean solar energy to power approximately 8,500 homes, the companies said.
