Intersolar North America has continued to grow with this year’s San Francisco exhibition and conference. Between the Intersolar North America and SEMICON West events, there were 560 solar exhibitors and approximately 17,000 trade visitors—an 111% increase for Intersolar’s exhibitor count. Ninety countries were represented within the trade visitors and 23 within the exhibitors.

Besides the exhibition, approximately 2,000 attended the 25-track conference portion of Intersolar. The “Solar Gigawatts Symposium” featured a European-American debate regarding market growth, and panel discussions on related perspectives and trends. Organizations like NREL, ISE, CALSEIA, and the US Department of Energy (USDOE) participated in a discussion centred on how to optimize and carry forward US renewable energy policy. Incentives such as tax credits were compared with Feed-in-Tariffs (FiTs), both of which were proposed as stimulants for solar energy growth in the US.
